Matching Digital Technologies to Market Opportunities

A how-to on shaping both a technology and market opportunity so that they fit together and provide a solution superior to existing practices.

This event is hosted by TechInnovate, University of Galway, as part of the Data2Sustain project.

Digital technologies cannot simply be pulled ‘off the shelf’ and applied to a problem. What entrepreneurs do best is shape both the digital technology and market opportunity so that they fit together and provide a solution superior to existing practices. Here we will cover brainstorming, ideation, and iteration.

Speaker:
John Breslin is a Professor in the School of Engineering at the University of Galway, where he is Director of the TechInnovate / AgInnovate programmes and PI at the Insight Research Ireland Centre for Data Analytics. He is a serial technology entrepreneur (boards.ie, adverts.ie, StreamGlider). John has taught electronic engineering, computer science, innovation and entrepreneurship topics over the past 25 years. He is co-founder of the PorterShed and co-author of the bestselling Old Ireland in Colour series.
