Who is this Service for?

About

The purpose of this service is to provide a location tracking system capable of monitoring the whereabouts of people or objects in various environments, indoors or outdoors. Depending on the use case different technologies will be considered: GPS, RFID, Bluetooth proximity detection, cellular networks, and ultra-wideband (UWB).  An online dashboard solution that collects, processes, and displays location data from the selected technology will be provided.

What to Expect

This service will commence with a 1 day a consultation to determine the company’s functional requirements for their tracking system.   A technical requirements document will be written that will outline the tracking system selected, summarise the proposed implementation and explain any limitations.  Components and sub-systems will then be sourced.

Companies will receive a functional demonstration system that will track the desired item. An online dashboard will be provided to monitor, record, and display the tracking information. The demonstration system will use off the shelf components and to enable future replication.

Use Cases:

  • Monitor real-time location of vehicles and other high-value assets in a fleet.
  • Tracking the location and usage of agricultural machinery for maintenance and security.
  • Tracking the movement of shipping containers and pallets within a supply chain.
  • Tracking the movement of components and products on the manufacturing floor to optimize workflows and improve efficiency.
  • Monitoring the location and usage of tools and equipment to prevent loss and improve maintenance schedules.
  • Tracking the location of workers in industrial settings to enhance safety, especially in hazardous environments.
  • Monitoring the location of patients and medical equipment within healthcare facilities.
  • Monitoring pedestrian movement in urban areas to improve traffic management, safety, and city planning.
  • Monitoring the location of individuals for safety in isolated environments.

Takeaway

You will receive a demonstration system consisting of electronics and access to a dashboard to monitor the asset location in real time or as a historical overview.

This service uses hardware that is available off the shelf.  Bespoke hardware development is available at additional cost and subject to completing a Technical Requirements specification
