Progressive Web Apps are an Operating System (OS) agnostic form of application. PWAs use a web browser application which means that they run on any system with a browser, this includes Android and iOS devices, Windows PCs, Apple computers and Linux systems.
PWAs are a great alternative to the separate development time and authorisation steps required for both Android and iPhone. They are developed using HTML (HyperText Markup Language) and CSS (Cascading Style Sheet) to create the user interface (Front-End) and Javascript to handle functionality and connection to the internet (Back-End).
We will meet to discuss your application and to identify the particulars of the system requirements. A system requirements document will then be written to inform the development of the PWA. Regular update meetings will guide the development. A PWA prototype will be delivered that can be deployed and tested in several systems and environments.
Where required the system will be able to:
It is important to note that, due to processing constraints on smartphone devices, applications that require significant computational power are not suitable for PWA development.
You will receive a functional PWA prototype that will be installable on smartphones, PCs and laptops with compatible browsers. The PWA will be of a simple design interface but sufficient to meet functional requirements.
Documentation will be provided so that the system can be developed further by a third party, for example to engage a front-end designer to improve the look and feel of the application.
